The pitch in one paragraph
Criticscale is a daily music games app for iOS that bundles eight different daily puzzles — pin a song to its release year (Erapin), identify a blurred album cover (Chromevinyl), connect artists to facts (Criticweb), guess the artist hangman-style (Vinylcrack), spot the real cover among AI fakes (Fakevinyl), group 16 tiles into 4 hidden categories (Bandgrid), drop a pin on the artist's origin (Originmap), and type as fast as you can in music speed-trivia (Beatblitz) — under one streak. Free to play, with an optional Pro subscription for past challenges and a few extras.
The eight games
- Erapin — daily song-to-year pinning game
- Chromevinyl — daily album cover-from-palette guessing
- Criticweb — daily artist-to-fact connections puzzle
- Vinylcrack — daily music hangman
- Fakevinyl — daily real-vs-fake album cover
- Bandgrid — daily 4×4 music connections
- Originmap — daily artist-origin geography
- Beatblitz — daily music speed-trivia
Founder
Carlos Salame is the founder and sole developer of Criticscale. Background in software engineering; lifelong music nerd; the kind of person who reads liner notes and disputes original release years. Criticscale began in early 2026 as a solo side project (Erapin) that turned into a daily ritual for friends; the rest of the catalog grew from there.

One-line quotes
"Criticscale is what happens when someone who actually cares about music tries to make Wordle for music. Eight different daily mechanics, one streak. The streak is the whole game." — Carlos Salame, founder
